Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection, or UTI, is an infection that can happen anywhere along the urinary tract. Urinary tract infections have different names, depending on what part of the urinary tract is infected: the bladder, kidneys, ureters, or urethra. UTIs are a common problem in women but can also affect men in the form of prostate and urethral infections. The SUS experts evaluate the structural and functional integrity of the urinary tract to diagnose any underlying conditions that may result in some patients being more likely than others to get UTIs. We also recommend preventative measures, which include lifestyle changes.
